I was doing some reading on water gardening yesterday. (I am redoing our backyard pond) I came across some websites on natural swimming pools. Basically it’s a pool that doesn’t have chemicals and uses plants for filtration. Apparently this is pretty big in Europe and just starting to get going here. You still use skimmers and pumps to circulate the water, but you have a separate section of the pool with plants to act as a biofiltration system. They say this meets the rigorous standards of health safety in Germany and it looks pretty. The plants should also take care of the algae.v
If I ever have a yard I’d definitely consider something like this.
