It’s sort of like fantasy football – you pick the 3 designers you think will do best in the next episode. They don’t seem have their method for scoring figured out yet, but I signed up anyway. Who’s up for the challenge?

I caught an episode of Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style last night on Bravo. Blech. I adore Tim but this show was hard to watch. It has no flow and Tim’s charm plays well in real life situations, but sounds overly affected in the commentary sections.

I read the book and it’s worthwhile but I don’t think it applies well as a show – at least how this is done. Their whole show is based around Tim’s list of 10 things a woman should have in her closet but not any real rules around this. So they send the woman out to buy a trench coat, a pair of jeans, etc with no instruction on what sort of jeans or trenchcoat to look for. What Not to Wear works so much better.

Veronica Webb scares me and has no chemistry with Tim.

Clinton + Stacey 4 EVA!!

I can’t wait for Project Runway to start on November 14.

After various news about the future of PR and Tim Gunn getting hired as the chief creative officer for Liz Claiborne I was left wondering if he’d be back on the show. PR is nothing without Tim!

So the good news is Yes, Tim (and Heidi, and Nina, and even Michael) will be back for Season 4. Read more at the Chicago Tribune. Tim is also getting his own makeover show on Bravo called Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style, which I guess goes along with his new book “A Guide to Quality, Taste and Style”.

Also, they’ve been casting for PR Season 4 in NYC the last few days. Anyone around the Westin in Times Square see the line?

In the meantime if you watch PR you must check out this website. MOST.HYSTERICAL.PROJECTRUNWAY.RECAPS.EVAH!

They also do good but not as amusing recaps on Gothamist.

But seriously, how could you not love the site that brings you this

Ok..I have to a confess. Yes, I did watch Miss Universe last night, but only because I wanted to see Kayne’s dress on Miss USA! Thankfully Tara Connor made the cut for the top 10 so she did compete in the evening gown competition. Kayne’s gown really worked for her. It made her look taller and stood out from the other dress. Tara’s designer request of “no white” was precipitous as I believe 3 of the top 10 had white gowns. Seeing it in the competition it definitely looked like a Barbie dress, which makes sense considering Robert, the Barbie designer, was Kayne’s partner. Miss Switzerlands dress reminded me of Laura’s but in hot pink. I thought Miss Puerto Rico’s was pretty cool with all of the trains but just on the wrong side of trashy.
On a sidenote, Miss Trinadad and Tobago was just shockingly beautiful. And Miss Canada (Alice Panikian) is Armenian.

Project Runway SPOILER ALERT!

The challenge for episode 2 – “Fit for a Queen” was to make a dress for the evening gown comp of the Miss Universe pageant for Miss USA. You had to figure that Kayne, the pageant gown designer, had the leg up on this challenge. This was one of those teamwork challenges so they all pitched ideas to Miss USA and she picked 7. Then they chose their partners. Vincent wound up with Angela.

You can check out the dresses here http://www.bravotv.com/Project_Runway/rate/season/3/episode/2/6

My take on this episode….

Props to Laura for picking Michael. Its nice to see someone realizing that having someone with a really different point of view can be a good thing.

Vincent and Angela were a disaster from the start. Yes, Angela is pain in the ass, but Vincent didn’t give her anything to do. Vincent’s lack of leadership skills were just as much to blame as Angela’s lack of teamwork.

What the hell was that black sack that Vera Wang was wearing? Shudder.

Jude Law Doppelganger?

Of the top 3 dresses (which I assume were Kayne, Uli, and Vincent) Kayne’s is the only one I’d never ever wear. In fact the only 2 I thought were ugly were Kayne and Malan’s. That isn’t, however, to say that Kayne’s dress wouldn’t be a good pageant dress though.

My personal top 3 were Uli, Vincent, and Jeffrey.

Is it just me or is Keith Jude Law masquerading as a fashion designer? Not only in looks, but in personality!

Katherine needs a makeover, or at least some makeup, stat! You don’t need to be done up to the max like Laura, but honey, you looked scary.
